Close to Pouilly Fume, Domaine Treuillet is typical of the best of the area producing a wine with wonderful ripe wild strawberry notes and concentration thanks to the very old Pinot Noir vines of the Domaine.

The 2004  Les Lauzieres offers kirsch liqueur notes, loads of body, a good texture, and a delightful rustic tannin in the finish.

 

Rioja Crianza, Bodegas Benito Urbina 2004, Rioja Alta, Rioja

The Urbina crianza (12 months in American oak, 6 months in bottle) is a blend of Tempranillo with a little Graziano and is deliciously smooth with ripe damson fruit and a touch of mint from the oak.

 

Shiraz, Hanenhof, 2006/2007, Barossa Valley, Australia

An outstanding wine.  Aged for 12 months in French and American oak.  Full-bodied, plush, and ripe with toasty oak, smoke, plum and blueberry on the nose.

Terrific red from young hotshot winemaker, Ben Glaetzer. Rich, complex and full-flavoured with chocolaty fruit.

Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot grapes from St. Julien, Bordeaux, delivering a nose of cedary fruit with a pronounced mineral edge. The palate is well balanced with some savoury tannic structure on the finish.

 

Château Leoville Barton 2eme Cru Classe 1998, France

One of the best St Julien from Bordeaux . Lovely violet and berry aromas, with hints of minerals.

 

Château Montrose 2eme Cru Classe 1996, France

An excellent example of what good winemaking can do. With great expression and mainly Cabernet Sauvignon in the blend it has fine tannins, plenty of sweet red and black fruits on the palate and an impressive length.
